Pressotherapy

About Pressotherapy

What is Pressotherapy?

Pressotherapy is a procedure that is said to help with lymphatic drainage, thus weakening the appearance of the hands and feet (because they carry less fluid), relieving pain and detoxifying the body.

It uses an air pressure machine to inflate a suit that presses on your arms, legs or abdomen in a rhythmic motion, similar to a massage.

There is some evidence that lymphatic drainage massage (lymphatic massage ) as pressotherapy can reduce the appearance of cellulite (see for cellulite massage) and release fluid in the lymph nodes that can build up after surgery or after certain cancer treatments.

How does it work;

Press therapy is similar to a lymphatic drainage massage, but while the massage is done by hand, the pressure therapy is done by a machine that distributes the right amount of pressure at a time.

You do not need to remove your clothes . The massage therapist will help you get into the special press therapy suit. This can be wrapped around the legs, waist, arms or all three.

The suit has pipes on it that are connected to a computerized air pressure machine. It will inflate with air and you will feel a slight pressure .

How long does it take;

A standard session will last 15 to 45 minutes depending on what you ask for and what the therapist suggests. Your body may feel light and then some people feel the need to urinate immediately, which could be due to the movement of water in the body.

What are the benefits of pressotherapy?

Press therapy improves the lymphatic drainage that acts on the vessels and lymph nodes. Stimulates the reabsorption of interstitial fluids (which accumulate between tissues and cells). Promotes the restoration of circulation, lymphatic and venous. Analgesic and relaxing effect. General well-being, with reabsorption of edema (fluid accumulation).
